The journal’s full text is available online at www.braincirculation.org. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository. The journal will cover technical and clinical studies related to health, ethical and social issues in field of 1) Thrombolysis, which could emphasize thrombolysis, new mechanical devices for recanalization and perhaps even neuroimaging or biomarkers to find patients most responsive to reperfusion. 2) Innovative treatment in stroke (including all non-drug treatments such as oxygen, hypothermia, remote pre-, per- or post-ischemic preconditioning). Articles with clinical interest and implications will be given preference. Tumor and MicroenvironmentTumor and Microenvironment (TME) is a semiannual journal by the open access Medknow Publications which is a brand of Wolters Kluwer Heath. A predominant challenge in developing curative cancer treatment is the co-evolution of tumor with its microenvironment. The goal of the TME is to become a leading scientific journal in the thriving field of tumor and microenvironment by publishing a range of high quality, cutting-edge, and peer-reviewed papers, including original research investigations, rapid communications, reviews, methodology reviews, and case studies. The topics of the TME include, but not limited to, the mechanisms underlying the tumor cell plasticity in various microenvironments, molecular markers for diagnosis, prognosis or drug sensitivity, drug targets in tumor cells and tumor microenvironments, and etiological and epidemiological factors for cancer disparities. The TME will also strive to serve as a unique platform for communicating scientific advancements in alternative medicine such as herb medicine and acupuncture cancer therapy. Heart and MindHeart and Mind (www.heartmindjournal.org) is a newly launched, peer-reviewed journal that is dedicated to discussion of the interdependence of psychological illness and cardiovascular disease. It is published quarterly by Wolters Kluwer-Medknow. The objective of Heart and Mind is to provide a timely, effective platform for interdisciplinary researchers working within the fields of cardiology, psychiatry, neurology and internal medicine. To do this, the journal accepts a broad array of article formats. Original research, editorials, reviews, discussions, interviews, clinical reports, and commentaries are all represented in its pages. Submissions should be academically rigorous, but also readable. Above all, they should be innovative, and focused on interconnections. Some subjects of interest to the editorial board are as follows. This list should not be taken to be comprehensive. It is intended merely a rough guide to the advisability of submission according to content: 1) bio-behavioral connections between cardiovascular disease, depression, anxiety, rage, and other mental states; 2) the psychological manifestations of cardiovascular disease; 3) the cardiovascular manifestations of mental disorders; 4) the relevance of psychological risk factors in the development of further disease, such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and sleep disorders; 5) drug interactions in cardiovascular and psychiatric disease; 6) emotional distress secondary to cardiac arrest and cardioverter-defibrillator implantation; and 7) the clinical outcomes and impacts of psychological intervention on cardiovascular diseases. Research of Hernia and Abdominal WallResearch of Hernia and Abdominal Wall is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal. Papers published in the journal are available to all readers online at www.herniaabdominalwall.org. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository. The Aim of this journal is to promote academic exchanges of hernia and abdominal wall surgery, improve application of new technique and material and generalize the guidelines of diagnosis and treatment in hernia and abdominal wall disease. The scope of the journal includes but not limited to the following: 1) Clinical issues of groin hernias, ventral/incisional hernias, parastomal hernias, internal hernias, and defects of diaphragm and perineum. 2) Advancement of techniques, concepts, materials and equipment in hernia repair 3) Prevention and treatment of complications following hernia repair 4) Treatment of infection, tumor and trauma of the abdominal wall 5) Reconstruction of the abdominal wall, cosmetic and plastic surgery in abdominal wall Environmental DiseaseEnvironmental Disease is a peer reviewed open access journal committed to publishing high-quality research in environmental medicine and public health, especially the diseases caused by modern lifestyle and/or environmental problems, including but not limited to cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancers. The journal aims to provide an efficient platform for biomedical scientists, public health professionals, and physicians. It publishes original research articles, review articles, editorials, and short communications, addressing the environment-disease interrelationships, mechanistic factors, and therapeutic strategies for environmental diseases. The journal particularly encourages papers covering the following topics: • Adverse health effects of environmental pollution • Impact of climate change on health • Influence of lifestyle on health • Food safety and genetically modified food • Health care for patients with environmental disease • Interactions between genetic and environmental factors that influence the development and progression of environmental disease • Human cell- and tissue-based in vitro models and animal models for studying effects of environmental stressors.
